Dance Evert
Tom Evert is a world-class dancer and takes pride in his role as a “Teaching Artist”. In his creation of programming, he is masterful in the instructional approach of integrating the art of dance with the core curriculum.
Also naturally embedded in learning through movement are social emotional skills of attention, feeling, body and breath. This creative and enjoyable workshops offer, “A magical feeling of the wonder of our world and the joy of moving through space”.
Mr. Evert is currently the director of DANCE EVERT , the Company which he founded with his wife Susana in 1986. A native of Cleveland, Tom received Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees from Ohio University in both Painting and Dance. Upon graduation Tom moved to New York City and established himself as a world- class dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company (1977-85). He is also a drummer and visual artist.
“Mr. Tom” has taught in a vast range of settings such as professional modern and ballet companies, universities, private studios, K-12 schools, and for populations with special needs.
