CollectivExpress, led by Founder Josiah Britt, is a mobile nonprofit made up of professional musicians and visual artists that specialize in community engagement in underserved neighborhoods.
Our mission is to inform, unite and celebrate marginalized residents through interactive musical performances, art activities, and youth workshops. Using hip-hop, jazz, and funk music as the catalyst, we create a space where people can discover their personal artistic expression.

Certifications
“Miseducation of…” is a program where scholars will learn the lyrics to an original song that is based on a specific children’s book. The scholars will listen to the song multiple times and begin to remember the vocabulary. Each day scholars will focus on the pronunciation and definitions of words throughout the text and by the end of the week be able to comprehend what they are.
This program promotes literacy while making it fun and enjoyable. The song and story will be repeated which will provide an opportunity to develop their storytelling skills. This will interrupt the monotonous scheduled routine and excite the students.
